UNAVELA valet tray, composed of three interlocking aluminium plates, bead-blasted to a smooth satin finish and anodised for durability. A simple object, reimagined through geometry, proportion, and material. Its beauty lies in the details, here, in three small deep blue brackets that quietly hold everything together. This valet tray is more than a functional object. It’s our way of rethinking the everyday. Made to be used, noticed, and kept. Not just a tray, but a quiet conversation about design. This is the second edition in a series of functional objects by UNAVELA.

THE MANUFACTURE

We have overseen every step in the creation of this valet tray, from the earliest sketches to the final assembly. Designed, prototyped, and developed entirely under our direction. Three solid plates of 6061 aluminium are CNC-machined with extreme precision, then bead-blasted to achieve a smooth, satin texture. A final anodised layer protects the surface and enhances durability over time. At the core of the construction are three deep blue anodised brackets, discreet but essential, that fix the plates together and bring structure to the design. As always, each piece is carefully assembled and checked by hand in our atelier in the south of France.

No. The tray is made from 6000-series aluminium, finished with a fine beadblast and a protective anodisation. As long as it’s used with normal care, it won’t scratch. You can place keys, rings, metal objects, directly on the surface without any problem. That said, the surface is not indestructible. If the tray is used improperly or deliberately scratched, marks may appear, like on any finely finished metal.

No. The edges of each aluminium plate are precisely rectified to ensure a smooth, even contact with any surface. This means the tray rests flat without sharp points or edges, making it safe to use on wood, metal, plastic, or any other furniture without risk of scratching.
