 MB&F
where art comes alive

Maximilian Büsser is the visionary founder and creative force behind MB&F, short for “Maximilian Büsser & Friends.” MB&F is a unique and innovative brand in the world of horology, known for producing some of the most unconventional and artistic timepieces. Maximilian’s journey into the world of watchmaking began when he was 22, and he discovered a profound passion for mechanical watches. His life took a dramatic turn when, at the age of 23, he survived a near-fatal accident while serving in the army. This experience deepened his appreciation for life and his attachment to watchmaking.

HOROLOGICAL MACHINES

Maximilian's creative process at MB&F is driven by a deeply personal and emotional connection to his designs. He draws inspiration from his childhood dreams and interests, including model airplanes, spaceships, and cars, which often find their way into his creations. Horological machines, seems to be the playground in which his mind played in his childhood. For example the Horological Machines nº9, inspired by the dynamic profiles of automotive and aviation mid-century design.

LEGACY MACHINES

With "Legacy Machines," Maximilian is paying tribute to the classic artistry of 18th and 19th-century watchmaking. MB&F describes the “Legacy Machines” series as : “Machines MB&F would have created 100 years ago.” Here we show the LM Sequential EVO, designed by one of MB&F's earliest collaborators and close friends, Stephen McDonnell. The LM Sequential EVO pushes the boundaries of what we previously believed chronographs were capable of achieving. Similar to the 2015 Legacy Machine Perpetual, which featured a significant movement by Stephen McDonnell, the LM Sequential EVO required a complete reevaluation of our fundamental assumptions about chronograph design.

CO-CREATIONS BY MB&F

In 2013, MB&F ushered in a new era of collaboration with external creators, venturing beyond the realm of wristwatches and pioneering a novel category known as "Co-creations." This innovative approach expanded MB&F's horizons, leading them into a world beyond the confines of miniature horology. Here we show “Medusa” ,In their tenth partnership with Switzerland's renowned clockmaker, L'Epée 1839, MB&F delves into the tranquil depths of warm ocean waters, where the graceful and age-old jellyfish thrive. Medusa is a versatile timepiece, presented within hand-blown Murano glass, offering both the option of ceiling mounting and placement on a desk.

T-Rex, featuring a minimalist clock-face crafted from Murano glass and steel, hangs suspended between two articulated legs culminating in clawed feet. Its appearance only subtly echoes the imposing physique of its namesake, the king of beasts.
